Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2506602A2] The device has a signal processing unit i.e. digital signal processor, processing frequency-dependent gains (V, V1-V8) of an electrical input signal. An adjusting part adjusts a normal gain (VN) of the electrical input signal depending on a signal frequency (f). The frequency-dependent gains in preset frequency ranges (K1-K8) are limited to a maximum gain (Vmax). The frequency-dependent gains are adjusted to exceed the normal gain of the electrical input signal or the maximum gain for duration of a detected sound e.g. consonant, and duration below setting time of a feedback whistling. The sound is noise caused by human or animal voice. An independent claim is also included for a method for operating a hearing aid device.
