[origin: WO2011066977A1] The invention relates to a process for producing dimensionally stable briquets from chip, fiber, dust or sheet-like material to be pressed: by means of a briquetting press (1), the material to be pressed is firstly fed by a motor-operated feed device (17, 18, 19) to a precompacting piston (15) and precompacted by the pre-press plate of the latter in a receiving chamber (16). Further compaction is then carried out in a mold box (8) by a press piston (12) that is moved at right angles thereto; in order to control the quantity of material to be pressed received in the mold box (18), a displacement transducer (22) measuring the travel of the press piston (12) is used and controls the feed device motor (19) via a control device (23). The pressure of the precompacting piston (15) is set fixedly by the control device (23) for the respective type of material to be pressed, and the quantity of material to be pressed is controlled by using the displacement transducer (22) in conjunction with a revolution counter (20), which measures the number of revolutions of the feed device (17, 18, 90).
