[origin: WO2011066967A1] The invention relates to an electric high-pressure discharge lamp (10) for a cosmetic skin treatment, comprising a fluorescent tube (20) of quartz glass, wherein at least two electrodes (21) made of metal having a mutual spacing greater than the internal diameter of the fluorescent tube (20) are disposed in the fluorescent tube (20), wherein a gas is enclosed in the fluorescent tube (20) and the quartz glass is doped with copper and tin, whereby the transmission of the fluorescent tube (20) for electromagnetic radiation of a wavelength shorter than 550 nm is reduced. The invention further relates to the use of such an electric high-pressure discharge lamp in a tanning apparatus or lamp for cosmetic skin treatment.
