[origin: EP2508101A1] The armchair (10) has an armchair frame (12) with side walls (20A, 20B) that are laterally arranged relative to an armchair longitudinal center plane. A seat cushion (14) and a backrest (16) are mounted on the frame. Armrests (28A, 28B) are pivotally mounted on the side walls and adjustable between a lowered rest position and a deployed operating position. The armrests comprise swivel guide elements formed from guide bars that are guided into the associated side walls. A detent device is arranged in each armrest for securing the armrest in the deployed operating position.
