[origin: EP2508703A2] The door closer (1) has a housing (2), a gear arrangement and a piston (8) that is impinged with a pressure spring (9) and is linear displaceably guided with the gear arranged in an operative-connection manner. The gear arrangement is arranged in the housing. A switching valve is formed from magnets, a valve ball and valve seat that is arranged to a taper of an overflow channel. The valve ball is arranged in the overflow channel in the piston. The magnets are longitudinally adjustably arranged in a recess of the housing. Cam disk (3).
