Abstract (en)
The connector (1) has a sealing mat (9) that is arranged at a top surface of housing portion (3). The sealing mat is formed of resilient material. Several apertures (17) are provided in the contact chambers (19). A push plate is arranged opposite to the sealing mat at the top surface of the housing portion. A guide portion provided on the push plate is moved with respect to the sealing mat along the longitudinal direction so as to protect the sealing mat, during insertion of a contact element into the contact chamber. An independent claim is included for method for inserting contact element into plug connector.

Es wird ein Steckverbinder zum Verbinden mit einem Gegenstecker beispielsweise in Kraftfahrzeugen beschrieben. Der Steckverbinder weist ein Gehäuseteil (5), eine Dichtmatte (9) und eine Druckplatte (37) auf. An der Druckplatte (37) ist eine Einführhilfe (41), beispielsweise in Form einer integral mit der Druckplatte (37) ausgebildeten zylindrischen Umrandung (43), vorgesehen. Die Einführhilfe (41) ist relativ zu der Dichtmatte (9) in Längsrichtung verlagerbar, so dass sie, nachdem das Kontaktelement (21) in dem Kontaktaufnahmeraum (19) verankert ist, zurückgefahren werden kann und die Ränder der Dichtmatte (9) sich dichtend um ein an dem Kontaktelement (21) angecrimptes Kabel (47) legen können. Die Einführhilfe (41) verhindert dabei beim Einführen des Kontaktelementes (21) in einen Kontaktaufnahmeraum (19) des Steckverbinders eine Beschädigung der Dichtmatte (9).
