[origin: WO2011069631A2] The invention relates to a security element (12) for security papers, value documents and the like, comprising a substrate (20) and a film element (30) applied to the substrate (20). For said purpose according to the invention the film element has a first feature region (32), and a substrate chamber (24) is designed in the substrate (20) below the first feature region (32) of the film element (30), wherein in the region of said substrate chamber the film element (30) is spaced from the substrate (20), and wherein in the region of said substrate chamber the substrate (20) is provided with a second feature region (22), which co-operates with the first feature region (32) in order to generate a security feature having a predetermined overall effect.
