[origin: WO2011069531A1] The invention relates to a ratchet operating unit, comprising at least one controllable ratchet drive (1, 2), a ratchet wheel (7) that can be rotated in one direction, and a ratchet (4) that engages with the ratchet wheel and that can be operated by the ratchet drive in order advance the ratchet wheel. The ratchet drive can be controlled by at least one light barrier (11, 12), which can be switched according to the position of the ratchet wheel. The ratchet wheel can thereby be brought into a specified starting position at any time. If several ratchet wheels are arranged parallel to each other on a rotational axis, each ratchet wheel can be rotated and controlled independently by means of the associated ratchet.
