[origin: WO2011110425A1] The invention relates to a halogen incandescent lamp for a vehicle headlight having a lamp cap (2) which defines a reference plane for alignment of the halogen incandescent lamp in the vehicle headlight and comprises a holder part (214) with an essentially rotationally symmetrical external contour for holding a light-transmissive lamp vessel (1), wherein the holder part (214) has a first holder part section (2141), which is connected to a component (212) of the lamp cap (2), as well as a second holder part section (2142), from which the light-transmissive lamp vessel (1) projects. According to the invention, the second holder part section (2142) has a smaller external diameter than the first holder part section (2141), and the height of the lamp cap (2) above the reference plane is in the range from 11.5 mm to 16.6 mm.
