Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2476270A] A tray for packaging bottles 1 in superposed layers comprises a plate with first housings 30 on one surface for receiving the bottom of a bottle and second housings (40, figure 3) on the opposite surface of the plate for receiving the top of the bottles of the layer underneath, at least a part of the first housings 30 have a lateral wall 32 separating first and second housings, a portion of which has a resilient element 36 to engage the bottle, the element protruding inside the second housing when pushed by a bottle in the first housing. The resilient element may include a flexible leg (36a, figure 3) directed towards the base 31 of the first housing. Only the housings around the edge of the tray may have the resilient members. The tray may be plastic. The tray compensates for bottles of different sizes and increases pack stability.
