[origin: WO2011085898A2] The invention relates to a method for producing a group of elongate panels for imitating a slat, said group comprising at least two slat end panels which have respectively a first short traverse edge and a second short traverse edge and two longitudinal edges and which, when the first respective short traverse edges are placed end to end or are arranged on the end of short traverse edges of at least one elongate intermediate panel, form a slat which has a continuous decoration on the joint of the traverse edges. According to the invention, the panels have bevel longitudinal edges on their decorated sides, and the second short traversal edge of the respective slat end panel is formed on the decorated side as a bevel transversal edge. The claimed method consists of the following steps: a large, essentially rectangular panel having at least one group of elongate panel decorations on the upper side thereof is provided, the respective panel decoration having a decoration direction and extends parallel to one of the panel edges, and the respective group of panel decorations has, in a first edge area which extends along one of the first edges of the panel edges and traverse to the direction of the panel decoration, a first panel decoration section, which for forming a continuous decoration, adapts to a second panel decoration section of a panel decoration offset in a traverse manner to the direction of decoration in relation to the first panel decoration section, said second section being in the same first edge area and/or in an edge area opposite said group of panel decorations, the large boards are subdivided into individual panels respectively comprising one of the panel decorations, the longitudinal and traverse edges of the respective panel are profiled; and inclined surfaces are produced such that the longitudinal edges are on the decoration side of the prepared panel and the second traverse edges which do not form a continuous decoration, are bevelled.
