Abstract (en)

[origin: GB2476318A] A shaped block 304 locates electric conductor lines or cables along the track of a vehicle. The block comprises recesses 315 or projections whose edges delimit a space into which the line sections can be introduced, the space being mutually parallel in a common plane. The end surface 325 of the shaped block can retreat by an angle alpha allowing an adjacent shaped block, along the vehicle track to abut in a different direction. (fig 4). A curved protrusion 320 in one block can engage with a corresponding recess 321 in the next block. The recesses 315 can be transverse to the vehicle travel and the line sections can form a continuous line following a meandering path (fig 6, 17) via longitudinal recesses. The blocks can be arranged between the rails of a railway track and the lines be used to transfer energy, by an alternating electromagnetic field, inductively to a rail vehicle.
