[origin: WO2011076733A1] The invention relates to an airbag module for a motor vehicle, having an air bag (10) that can be inflated for protecting a person, a band (20) interacting with the air bag (10), a carrier (30) for the airbag module (1), and a retaining element (31) by means of which the band (20) is fixed to the carrier (30). According to the invention, the retaining element (31) is formed integrally on the carrier (30) so that when a predefined force acts on the retaining element, the retaining element (31) can be separated from the carrier (30) in order to release the band (20).
