[origin: WO2011076545A1] The invention relates to an ironing station (1; 52) comprising an iron (2) and a portable base (4) for placing the iron (2), which has a fastening device for fastening the iron (2) to the base (4), wherein the fastening device has a receiving element (20) for receiving a front sole section (74) of the iron (2) and a pivoting holding element (22; 54) for encompassing at least sections of a rear housing section (12) of the iron (2), to a base (4) and to an iron (2) for use in said type of ironing station (1; 52). The present invention is particularly suitable for the reliable placement of an iron on a base and for the secure transport of the iron and the base as one unit.
