[origin: WO2011076166A1] The invention relates to a method and device for producing insulating glass. In the method, two glass panes are connected to each other by means of a glass frit applied to the first and/or second glass pane in the form of a border, wherein a frame-shaped spacer can be used. The interior of the insulating glass unit formed is evacuated by means of natural clearances between the glass panes in the area of the glass frit border, wherein said natural clearances can be formed by natural gaps and/or pores in the glass frit or the natural gap formed between the glass frit and the glass panes. Optionally, the remaining exhaust gases in the interior can be pumped out by means of a special venting opening in a subsequent second evacuation step. The device suitable for performing said method is a furnace system having a plurality of chambers arranged one behind the other.
