The device (1) has a lining supply (7) and a cover supply (6) arranged upstream of a pressing station (10), and a linearly movable transporting unit (14) connected to the pressing station. The transporting unit selectively transfers a lining strip (2) or a cover (3) into the pressing station in a conveying direction (9) that extends perpendicular to a pressing direction (30). The transporting unit conveys the lining strip or the cover in the pressing station relative to a book block (4) into the position from which the lining strip or the cover is glued to spine of the block. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a bound book block.

Vorrichtung (1) und Verfahren zur Herstellung von gebundenen, einen Fälzelstreifen (2) oder einen Umschlag (3) aufweisenden Buchblocks (4), mit einer in einer Anpressrichtung (30) bewegbaren Anpressstation (10) zum Ankleben und Anpressen des Fälzelstreifens (2) oder des Umschlags (3) an einen Rücken (4a) des Buchblocks (4), wobei die Vorrichtung (1) eine mit der Anpressstation (10) verbundene, eine im Wesentlichen senkrecht zur Anpressrichtung (30) verlaufenden Förderrichtung (9) aufweisende, linear bewegbare, gemeinsame Transporteinrichtung (14) besitzt, welche wahlweise aufeinander folgend einen Fälzelstreifen (2) oder einen Umschlag (3) in die Anpressstation (10) übernimmt und in der Anpressstation (10) relativ zum Buchblock (4) bis in eine Position fördert, aus welcher der Fälzelstreifen (2) oder der Umschlag (3) an den Rücken (4a) des Buchblocks (4) angeklebt wird.
