Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2518709A1] The device is surrounded by a physical barrier (102a,102b) having access area (106). A laser scanner (108) is arranged and oriented, so that its control plane (114) is engaged over top of barrier to detect and then to output a theft signal. An authorization device (110) for the access area is configured to activate or deactivate the laser scanner upon authorized passage through access area. An independent claim is included for method for detection of unauthorized intrusion or entrance into protected area.
