[origin: WO2011080463A1] The invention relates to an automated machine for grinding track welds on a rail head (13), which comprises a portable main chassis (9) arranged so as to be placed on the track and provided with mountings (10) that describe an arc of circle which covers the head (13) perpendicular to the track, a beam (12) supported by the chassis (9) such as to rotate about the head (13) by means of mountings (10) and moving closer to or further from the centre of the arc of circle to take reference from the rail head (13) and copy the profile of the head (13) during the rotation of the beam (12), and a grinding head (23) supported by the beam (12) such as to be able to move in a first direction perpendicular to the beam (12) in order to move a grinder (32) mounted on one end of the grinder head (23) closer to or further from the centre of the arc of circle, and in a second direction parallel to the beam (12) in order to perform a sweeping movement of the grinder (32).
