[origin: EP2520430A1] A geometry of a printed sheet running through a printing press is drawn to compare with the intended geometries. An imaging system is oriented perpendicular to a sheet surface for partly registering visible contours (19) of sheet edges. Conclusions are oriented and drawn from deviations of sheet edges relative to intended contours. Faulty sheet transfer due to incorrect setting of grippers, excessive lifting of sheet off an impression cylinder due to incorrect setting of blown air, or incorrect radius of impression cylinder or of a blanket cylinder are determined.
