[origin: EP2520706A2] The dryer (1) has a drum (3) supported in a housing (2), and a feeding opening (5) closed with a door (4). A heating device (8) generates process air flow (PL), where condensate is collected in a condensate collecting container (12) designed as a surge unit (11). The container works together with a discharge device (18) that discharges the condensate. The discharge device stays in effective connection with a guide of the unit such that the unit is arranged in a suction position in an inserted condition of the unit and arranged in a holding position in an extended condition of the unit.
