Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2522598A1] The device has an immobilizing unit for axial and radial immobilization of a paper cup (2), and provided with a fixed support (3). A widening unit exerts pressure on a lower portion of a peripheral wall (9) of the cup. The widening unit is actuated by displacement of a movable element (1) e.g. pillar, in translation along a translation axis (X) of the cup. The widening unit is inserted within a cavity of a base (19) of the cup. The widening unit provided with a cylindrical mandrel (28) oriented toward the base of the cup. An independent claim is also included for a method for deforming an outer wall of stackable paper cups.
