A flow of the product is controlled by an adjusting element (3) by virtue of the fact that the size of a cross-sectional area of an opening region (8) for the flow is changed by the adjusting element. The adjusting element (3) changes the size of the cross-sectional area such that at least in one operating state in which the size of the cross-sectional area is at most half of a maximal cross-sectional area, the shape of the cross-sectional area is adjusted in such a manner that an internal width (14) of the cross-sectional area is at least 20% of a length (13) of the cross-sectional area.
