Abstract (en)

The method involves reducing impact of web tension control on a web extension before an upcoming modification of a web tension influencing parameter i.e. elastic modulus, only if the upcoming modification of the web tension influencing parameter exceeds a predetermined threshold. The impact of the web tension control is reduced by changing controller parameters (210, 211), a reference value (w) and/or a bandwidth of a closed web tension control circuit (200), and by limiting a controller output (ur) and/or a web extension offset (e). An independent claim is also included for a web processing machine.
