[origin: WO2011088959A1] The cooking apparatus (1; 11) is provided for insertion into a cut-out (C2) in a work top (A), wherein the cooking apparatus (1; 11) comprises a peripheral lateral wall (5) having four wall sections (7, 8, 9). Each wall section (7, 8, 9) has on the outer face (4) thereof at least one resiliently deformable compression element (6). A method comprises at least the following steps: inserting a first (1) of the two cooking apparatuses into the cut-out; arranging a dividing wall (12) at a free face of the first cooking apparatus (1) in such a manner that compression elements (6) of the first cooking apparatus (1) bordering the dividing wall (12) engage in a first group of recesses (13) in the dividing wall (12); and inserting a second (11) of the two cooking apparatuses (1; 11) into the cut-out in such a manner that compression elements (6) of the second cooking apparatus (11) bordering the dividing wall (12) engage in a second group of recesses (13) in the dividing wall (12).
