[origin: EP2527732A1] The steam generator (6) has a water tank (5), where a boiler (7) is equipped with a heater (8) for evaporation of the boiler. The control medium (14) is designed to activate a water supply unit (10) and an outlet unit (13). An automatic descaling cycle is carried out with a descaling solution for a boiling chamber (9). The control medium activates the heater for a predetermined time for carrying out the descaling cycle. An independent claim is included for a method for operating a Steam generator.
