[origin: EP2530784A1] The electrical connection device (10) has a connection device that comprises a spring cage (2) provided with a contact spring (21) and a contact area opposite the contact spring. A retaining unit (3) is switchable from a base state into an assembly state. The electrical conductor is inserted into spring cage during base state. The contact spring is made to clamp electrical conductor during assembly state. The retaining unit is movably arranged between contact area and contact spring during base state. An independent claim is included for method for connecting an electrical conductor to the electrical connection device.
