[origin: WO2011095590A1] The invention relates to a surge arrester comprising an active part (12), two electrodes (14, 16) applied to the active part, and a connection element (18). The active part (12) and the electrodes (14, 16) are arranged in the connection element (18). According to the invention, the connection element (18) is produced in an injection moulding method or press moulding method and shrinks during the production thereof, thereby firmly pressing the electrodes (14, 16) onto the active part (12).
