Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2535590A2] The centrifugal pump assembly has a cutting unit (1) with a cutting surface (3) and openings (5) through which the medium flows. A cutting portion (4) lies on the cutting surface. The cutting unit and an impeller (2) are rotated together using a motor. A control device is associated with the motor for controlling the rotation of the impeller and the cutting unit at intervals in a different direction. The impeller is provided with blades which are extended in a purely radial direction, so that pump exhibits same characteristics in both directions of rotation.
