[origin: EP2538005A1] The method involves controlling an electromagnet (2') by switching supply voltage periodically between square or rectangular signals. The electromagnet is controlled to move from a standby mode to working mode by adjusting duty cycle to satisfy a proportionality equation. A predetermined value of current is provided to establish current in the electromagnet according to the standby mode or working mode. The duty cycle and a switching mode of the electromagnet are adjusted in a continuous manner. An independent claim is also included for an electromagnetic lock system.
