The pump arrangement has a pump device (1), particularly with a centrifugal pump, where the pump device has a housing (5) with an intake opening (2), an impeller housing (3) and an outflow opening (4), a drive shaft (8) and an impeller (6) that is fixed at the drive shaft and is arranged in the impeller housing. A diagonal unit (16) is provided for determining the operating condition of the pump device and is connected with an ultrasonic transmitting- or receiving device (14) arranged nearby the intake opening or the outflow opening of the pump device. An independent claim is included for a method for determining the operating condition of a pump arrangement.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Pumpenanordnung mit einer Pumpvorrichtung (1), insbesondere mit einer Kreiselpumpe, wobei die Pumpvorrichtung (1) ein wenigstens eine Ansaugöffnung (2), ein Laufradgehäuseteil (3) und eine Ausströmöffnung (4) umfassendes Gehäuse (5), eine wenigstens teilweise in dem Gehäuse (5) angeordnete und um eine Drehachse (A) in eine Drehbewegung versetzbare Antriebswelle (8) und wenigstens ein im Laufradgehäuseteil (3) angeordnetes und an der Antriebswelle (8) befestigtes Laufrad (6) aufweist. Erfindungsgemäß ist eine Diagnoseeinheit (16) zur Ermittlung des Betriebszustands der Pumpvorrichtung (1) vorgesehen, wobei die Diagnoseeinheit (16) mit einer nahe der Ansaugöffnung (2) oder der Ausströmöffnung (4) der Pumpvorrichtung (1) angeordneten Ultraschall-Sende-/Empfangsvorrichtung (14) verbunden ist.
