[origin: WO2011104004A1] The invention relates to a latch device for a vehicle door that includes: a latch including half-springs defining two sub-assemblies extending opposite each other; and a key (6) having, on separate surfaces (10), tracks (12) having non-rectilinear edges (14, 16) capable of engaging with the half-springs for unlocking the latch. Each track has a dimension (t), as measured from one edge to the other along a direction (Z) perpendicular to a longitudinal direction (X) of the key, which is constant in the longitudinal direction.
