Abstract (en)
The present invention relates to a beverage dispensing system for dispensing beverage from a beverage container, the beverage dispensing system comprising a dispense head adapted to be connected to the beverage container and comprising a housing having a through-going bore, and an activation handle pivotally mounted to the housing and movable between at least a deactivated position and an activated position, and a replaceable hollow piston member removably insertable into the bore of the housing; a dispensing line connected to the hollow piston member; a gas inlet arranged in the housing and in fluid communication with the bore and an extractor tube being inserted in the beverage container, wherein the dispense head further comprises a gas valve arranged in the housing for closing off the fluid communication between the gas inlet and the bore, when the hollow piston member is removed from the bore of the housing. The invention further relates to a method for for activating the gas supply in a beverage dispensing system.
