The method involves movably arranging a control element (11) on a positioning region (10) of an operating device (9) for setting operation condition of a cooking plate (1). A sensitive operation panel (14) is formed on top surface (13) of the control element. The control element is operated by touching the sensitive operation panel for selecting cook zones (4-8) on a cooking hob plate (2). The selection of the cook zone is automatically acknowledged by releasing the sensitive operation panel or by rotating the control element. An independent claim is included for cooking hob.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zum Betreiben eines Kochfelds (1), bei welchem ein auf einem Positionierbereich (10) angeordnetes Bedienelement (11) zur Einstellung einer Betriebsbedingung des Kochfelds (1) bewegbar ist, wobei das Bedienelement (11) im auf dem Positionierbereich (10) angeordneten Zustand an einem berührsensitiven Bedienfeld (14) des Bedienelements (11) ortsspezifisch berührt wird und dadurch eine Funktionsteileinheit (4 bis 8) des Kochfelds (1) ausgewählt wird und die Auswahl durch das Loslassen des berührsensitiven Bedienfelds (14) oder durch das Drehen des Bedienelements (11) mit weiterhin berührtem Bedienfeld (14) automatisch bestätigt wird. Die Erfindung betrifft auch ein Kochfeld (1).
