The dishwasher (1) has a door (5) arranged at the front side of loading opening (3) used for accessing the washing container (4), and a light-transmissive portion (16) of the inner wall (8) of the door, which is made of light-permeable material. The light-transmissive portion has one or more functional elements (15) such as display elements and/or lighting elements provided in the surface of the inner wall of door. The inner wall of the door is made of translucent or transparent non-metallic material such as glass and/or plastic.
