Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2543449A1] The method involves conveying a magnesium strip through a roll gap (31) in reversible operation such that a roll stand (11) is operated alternatively as de-coiling and coiling between receiving coiling devices (12,13). The roll gap is formed in the roll stand between two work rolls. The strip temperature of the magnesium strip is measured and is used as input parameter while regulation of the rolling process and control of the roll stand. The temperature of the region of the roll gap is measured.
