Abstract (en)
The method involves storing machine-readable passport associated secret identification code (ID) to electronic data store (9) of a separate identity. The technical data transmission connected to an interrogation device (3) is read. The identification code is transmitted to the interrogation device by the identification device (2). The identification code is checked by the interrogation device or a test unit (21) for proper allocation to the passport. Independent claims are included for the following: (1) person identification apparatus; and (2) computer program product for identifying person.

Zur Identifizierung einer Person (4) wird vorgeschlagen, einen einem maschinenlesbaren Ausweis zugeordneten, geheimen Identifizierungscode (ID) auf einem elektronischen Datenträger (9) eines von dem Ausweis gesonderten Identifizierungsgeräts (2) zu speichern, den Ausweis zur Auslesung datenübertragungstechnisch mit einem Abfragegerät (3) zu verbinden, durch das Identifizierungsgerät (2) den Identifizierungscode (ID) an das Abfragegerät (3) zu übertragen, und den Identifizierungscode (ID) durch das Abfragegerät (3) oder eine damit verschaltete Prüfeinheit (21) auf korrekte Zuordnung zu dem Ausweis zu prüfen.
