[origin: EP2546139A1] The equipment has a pressurized air source (1) i.e. pressurized air bottle, connected with a respirator. An inflatable waistcoat (2) is connected with the source for inflation in a normal operation or with an outlet for discharging air. A pneumatic controller (8) includes a control valve (18), which activates the controller in the normal operation based on a surrounding water pressure so that safety-relevant parameters are monitored by the controller, and emergency measures are introduced. The controller is connected with a tester (23), which tests a functional efficiency of the controller.
