[origin: EP2546830A2] The method involves providing multiple sound actuators (3) i.e. speakers, distributed over a surface area of a space (1), and providing sound sensors (4) i.e. microphones, arranged in the space, where the sound actuators or the sound sensors are arranged in a ceiling or a wall of the space. The sound actuators are actuated in response to sound values detected by the sound sensors, with respect to a desired sound-related space division, or with respect to person signals or object signals, which are detected by the sound sensors. An independent claim is also included for a device for influencing noise in a space.
