[origin: EP2548835A1] The system has a display unit (10) and an input unit for displaying and inputting crane operation-type information according to a current mechanical structure of a crane, where the information is required for limiting a load moment and/or controlling the crane. A logic unit determines application and/or outfitting related dependencies between input parameters (52, 54). The logic unit is designed such that selection of the parameters to be filled out is generated and a plausibility check is performed between the parameters based on the determined dependencies. The input parameters are selected from a luffing jib parameter (53) and an excavator boom defining parameter (51).
