Abstract (en)

[origin: EP2551057A1] The method involves providing an abrasive-precursor comprising a base (1) and multiple abrasive grits (3) which are bonded to the base. A layer of binder covering (4) partially covers the abrasive grits. The uppermost binder covering is unhardened. An abrasive additive is applied on the uppermost unhardened binder covering. The uppermost binder covering is hardened. The abrasive additive is applied, particularly scattered on the uppermost unhardened binder covering in dry form or powder, particularly in the form of flakes, fibers, agglomerates or capsules. An independent claim is included for a coated abrasive with a certain ration of layer thickness of abrasive additive above the abrasive grits to layer thickness of abrasive additive between the abrasive grits.
