The device has an induction coil for creation of magnetic field. An embossing tool is attached to a sleeve-shaped carrier formed on a jacket of a rotating cylinder (22). The embossing tool is made of a magnetizable material while the rotating cylinder, the jacket and the carrier are made of a non-magnetizable material.

Bei einer Vorrichtung zum Erwärmen mindestens eines Werkzeugs (28), welches am Umfang eines rotierenden Zylinders (22), z. B. am Umfang eines Prägezylinders, angeordnet ist, ist es vorgesehen, das Prägewerkzeug (28) aus einem magnetisierbaren Material herzustellen und an einem hülsenförmigen Trägerkörper (27) zu befestigen, der aus einem nicht magnetisierbaren Material hergestellt ist.
