[origin: EP2551170A1] The rail vehicle has a buffer unit (103) that is arranged at a first end of vehicle main portion (102) in activated operating state. The buffer unit is arranged facing an impact element (103.2). A cover unit (108) covering a mounting portion (106) is provided to releasably connect with buffer unit. The buffer unit is provided to receive the force of the mounting portion under normal impact load. The shock of the rail vehicle in normal load corresponds to the expected load of the buffer unit.
