Abstract (en)
[origin: EP2552178A1] The device (1) has two light sources (11, 12) e.g. red, green and blue LEDs, arranged behind an optical display field for generating color e.g. red. An activation module (3) is connected to the light sources, and activates the light sources in accordance with the color. A monitor component (52) identifies an error and/or fault on one of the light sources and allows a faulty light source of the light sources to be shut down. The activation module comprises an identifying unit (4) for identifying short circuit with respect to the light sources.
