Abstract (en)

Machine for reconditioning railway roadbeds, comprising an equipped wagon (1) provided with means (13) for temporarily lifting the rails (8) of a track (7), excavation means (23) for removing the material of the roadbed (10) situated under the lifted track (7) and means (18) of lifting and rotating at least one of the sleepers (9', 9") to be at least partly released from the rails (8) of the track (7); this machine further comprises at least one unit for demolishing and lowering the roadbed located, with respect to the direction (S) of advancement of the equipped wagon (1), upline of the rail lifting means (13) and downline of the excavation means (23), and a plurality of demolition means (17, 17') for breaking up a certain stretch of roadbed (10), both within and outside the rails (8); wherein the demolition means (17, 17') are suitable for acting in the empty space left by the sleeper (9") lifted and rotated by these lifting and rotating means (18), and this sleeper (9") is to be carried by the means (18) to a new position situated upline of the excavation means (23) and on the reconditioned and lowered roadbed (10').
