[origin: EP2557259A2] The braking device (V) has a braking unit (I) that is formed as a pneumatic braking unit. The braking unit has a cylinder (1) and a piston rod (2) with a piston (2a). The piston rod is moved in the cylinder. The piston rod is designed with a magnet head (3), where the braking unit is provided with a stopper (4). The piston is equipped with a check valve. Another braking unit (II) is provided, which is connected with the former braking unit, where the latter braking unit has a mounting bracket (5). An independent claim is included for a sliding door or sliding window, particularly a lift sliding door, which has a fixed frame.
