Abstract (en)

[origin: WO2011124293A1] The invention relates to a vacuum belt filter, comprising a circulating belt arranged horizontally or obliquely, said belt having drain openings, wherein the upper run of the belt passes over a centrally arranged vacuum chamber, by means of which the separation of the filtrate from the material to be filtered that is fed onto the belt is assisted. Starting from the disadvantages of the prior art, a vacuum belt filter should be created that is characterized by improved sealing between the belt or conveyor belt and the vacuum chamber and for which the use of a sealing liquid is unnecessary. For this purpose the wear belt is guided in recesses (16) that have step-shaped ledges (17) on the longitudinal sides of the recesses, said step-shaped ledges having lateral boundaries (18), whereby an upper free space (19) and a lower free space (20) are formed. The wear belt (15) lies on the upper face (21) of the steps (22) in an air-tight manner, and rollers (25) are supported in the lower free space (20) below the wear belt (15) as stable sliding elements that are in contact with the wear belt (15).
