[origin: EP2386600A1] Use of isocyanate group-containing compounds (A) as crosslinkers for hydroxyl group-containing (hydrogenated) nitrile rubbers, is claimed, where the compounds (A) contain at least two isocyanate groups. Use of isocyanate group-containing compounds (A) of formula (R1-C(=O)-N((M) q-R4)-C(=O)-NR2-(M) r-R5) (I), ([R3-(M) p] m-C-[O-C(=O)-NH-(M) q-R4] n) (II), (III) or (R3-(M) p-N=C=N-(M) q-R4) (IV), as crosslinkers for hydroxyl group-containing (hydrogenated) nitrile rubbers, is claimed, where the compounds (I)-(IV) contain at least two isocyanate groups. Either R1 : O-[M] p-R3 or NH-[M] p-R3; and R2 : H; or R1+R2 : single bond, -N(C(=O)-CH 3)-(M) p-R3, -O-C(=N-(M) p-R3)- or -O-C(=O)-; n : 1-4; m : 4-n; R3-R5 : H or a residue comprising one or more groups of one or more times unsaturated carbo- or hetero-cyclic residue, linear or branched alkyl, (hetero)aryl, (hetero)arylalkyl, alkoxy, (hetero)aryloxy, amino, amido, hydroxyimino, carbamoyl, alkoxycarbonyl, F, Cl, Br, I, hydroxy, phosphonato, phosphinato, alkylthio, arylthio, sulfanyl, thiocarboxy, sulfinyl, sulfono, sulfino, sulfeno, sulfonic acid, sulfamoyl, silyl, silyloxy, nitrile, sulfanyl, hydroperoxycarbonyl, hydroperoxy, thiocarboxy, dithiocarboxy, hydroxyimino, nitro, nitrosyl, carbonyl, carboxy, oxycarbonyl, oxysulfonyl, oxo, thioxo, borate, selenate, epoxy, cyanate, thiocyanate, isocyanate, thioisocyanate or isocyanide; M : repeating units of one or more, mono or poly-unsaturated monomers comprising optionally conjugated diene, alkyne or vinyl compounds, or a divalent structural element, which is derived from a polymer comprising polyether, preferably polyalkylene glycol ether and polyalkylene oxide, polysiloxane, polyol, polycarbonate, polyurethane, polyisocyanate, polysaccharide, polyester or polyamide; and p, q, r : 0-10000. Independent claims are included for: (1) a vulcanizable composition containing the hydroxyl group-containing (hydrogenated) nitrile rubbers and (A); (2) preparing vulcanizable composition comprising mixing the hydroxyl group-containing (hydrogenated) nitrile rubbers and (A); (3) preparing vulcanizates comprising crosslinking the vulcanizable composition under heating; (4) vulcanizates, preferably molded parts, obtained by the process for preparing vulcanizates; and (5) the hydroxyl group-containing hydrogenated nitrile rubbers.
