Abstract (en)
[origin: WO2011128817A1] A door for a cooking appliance, in particular an oven, has a door frame fixed on which is a closing panel. Moreover associated to the frame, in an upper part thereof, is a handle device (10) comprising a supporting body (20), mounted on the frame above the panel, and a handle body (30), mounted movable on the supporting body (20), such that it can assume a closed position and an open position. The handle device (10) includes elastic means (50) for biasing the handle body (30) constantly towards the open position, and a catch mechanism (22), substantially of a push-push type. The handle body (30) has at least one contrast element (31), configured as a projection, and the supporting body (20) has a seat (21) for receiving a casing (23) of the catch mechanism (22). The catch mechanism (22) includes a pair of arms (22a), generally jaw-shaped, mounted with respect to the corresponding casing (23) such that, in the locking condition of the mechanism (22), the arms (22a) are set close to one another so as to withhold between them a head (31a) of the contrast element (31), and, in the release condition of the mechanism (22), the arms (22a) extend at a distance apart so as not to withhold between them the head (31a) of the contrast element (31).
