[origin: WO2011134704A1] The invention relates to a method for determining a starting speed in a motor vehicle, the drive train of which comprises a drive motor in the form of an internal combustion engine, a starting element formed as an automated friction clutch, and a transmission in the form of an automated geared transmission, wherein a starting speed (GAnf) for starting from a standstill while complying with a load limit on the friction clutch is determined. In order to avoid overloading the friction clutch, the method according to the invention provides for a load-independent starting speed (GAnfTyp) to be determined by means of which, during starting under the current starting conditions, without taking into consideration the current state of loading of the friction clutch and without complying with a load limit of the friction clutch, starting would be carried out, for at least one load-specific starting speed to be determined as the highest starting speed by means of which, when starting under the current starting conditions, a predefined load limit of the friction clutch would be complied with, taking into consideration the current load state of the friction clutch, and for the starting speed (GAnf) provided for the current starting operation to be determined in a selection of the lowest starting speed from between the load-independent starting speed and the at least one load-specific starting speed as a minimum.
