Ballistic protection system (1) comprises a base material (3) and/or a substrate, and a hermetic layer and/or its composite, which is applied on the base material or the substrate as a ballistic-sensitive protective layer (2). An independent claim is also included for an object with a protection system, where the protection system is directly sprayed on the structure to be protected or is detachably attached to the object to be protected, preferably screwed.

Vorgeschlagen wird die Nutzung einer thermo-kinetisch abgeschiedenen cermetischen Schicht bzw. einem derartigen Schichtverbund als ballistisch wirkende Schutzschicht (2) für ballistische Schutzsysteme (1). Die thermisch gespritzte Auflageschicht (2) hat dabei die Aufgabe, Geschosse, insbesondere solche mit Hartmetallcharakter, zu brechen. Das ballistische Schutzsystem (1) umfasst ein Basismaterial (3) und / oder ein Substrat (3), dem die cermetische Schicht und / oder der cermetische Schichtverbund (2) als ballistische Schutzschicht (2) durch Hochgeschwindigkeitsflammspritzen (HVOF, HVOLF) aufgebracht ist.
